Ki ET LA lens kit: how to replace your child's sunglass lenses?

Summary:

Ki ET LA sunglasses follow children on all their adventures: beach, cycling, holidays, playing in the garden... And knowing children's energy levels, it can happen that a pair of glasses needs a little replacement.

A scratched, lost or damaged lens? No need to replace the whole pair!

Ki ET LA offers a replacement lens kit for certain models of children's sunglasses. A practical solution to extend the lifespan of your glasses and quickly get a pair ready for the next adventures.

In this article, find out which lenses are compatible with your pair of Ki ET LA glasses, how to order your replacement kit and how to change the lenses easily thanks to our video tutorial and our illustrated guide.

Ki ET LA lens kit: what is it for?

The Ki ET LA lens kit allows you to replace the lenses of certain sunglasses from the brand when they are damaged or when it is necessary to change them.

The goal is simple: to be able to keep the frame and replace only the lenses when possible.

It is particularly practical with children's glasses, which can be put to the test on a daily basis.

A pair of glasses can fall, be slipped into a bag with other items, get a few scratches during a day at the beach or simply go through the little adventures of daily life.

With a compatible lens kit, it is therefore possible to give a second life to the frame.

Why replace the lenses instead of the glasses?

When the frame is still in good condition, replacing only the lenses can be a simple and practical solution.

This notably allows you to:

  • keep a frame that the child loves;
  • avoid replacing the whole pair when only the lenses are affected;
  • extend the use of the glasses;
  • quickly regain a functional pair for outdoor activities.

Be careful, however: not all Ki ET LA sunglass models are necessarily compatible with a lens kit. It is therefore important to check the compatibility of your pair before ordering.

How do I know if my Ki ET LA glasses are compatible?

Before ordering a lens kit, start by precisely identifying your glasses model.

Ki ET LA glasses come in several collections and several shapes. The lenses are therefore not interchangeable between all models.

To avoid any error, check the reference of your pair and make sure that the proposed kit matches your model correctly.

In case of doubt, our team can help you identify the right kit for your glasses, do not hesitate to contact them.

Where to buy a Ki ET LA lens kit?

The replacement lens kits available are offered directly on our site.

Each kit corresponds to specific sunglass models and a specific size. Therefore, take the time to check compatibility before placing an order.

How do I change the lenses of my Ki ET LA glasses?

Have you received your lens kit? Good news: the replacement can be done easily at home by following the different steps.

To guide you, we have prepared a video tutorial that shows step-by-step how to remove the old lenses and install the new ones.

🎥 Video tutorial: mounting the new lenses

Take a few minutes to watch the video in its entirety before starting. This will allow you to visualize the different actions and calmly prepare your pair of glasses.

The steps in pictures:

To supplement the video, our graphic designer has also created an illustrated storyboard of the lens mounting.

You can thus keep the guide at hand during installation and follow each step directly on the illustrations.

Step 1: prepare the glasses and the lens kit

Before starting, set yourself up on a clean and clear surface.

Prepare:

  • your pair of Ki ET LA glasses;
  • your new lens kit;
  • the storyboard or assembly video nearby.

Avoid working on an abrasive surface or in a place where the lenses are likely to fall and get scratched.

A little tip: wash and dry your hands well before handling the lenses.

Step 2: remove the old lenses

Take your old Ki ET LA frame and dismantle the old lenses by folding the frame in two until you see the corner of the lens pop out. Then, remove the lens using your finger at the area closest to the nose.

Handle the frame with care and avoid using a sharp object or tool that could damage the plastic. Take your time: there is no need to force the frame. If you encounter unusual resistance or have any doubts, it is better to stop the process and contact our team.

Step 3: position the new lens

Once the old lens is removed, take the new lens from the kit.

Fold the frame in two again, then align the edge of the lens with the inner groove on the side of the temple. Apply pressure so that the lens snaps perfectly into place.

Once the first lens is installed, repeat the same operation with the second one.

Step 4: clean the lenses

Once both lenses are installed, take a few moments to check that each one is correctly positioned in the frame and clean the lenses with your microfiber pouch.

Ensure in particular that:

  • both lenses are properly in place;
  • no lens is moving in the frame;
  • the frame has not been deformed during the process;
  • the lenses are clean before putting the glasses back on your child.

And there you go: your pair of glasses is ready to get back to work!

How do I maintain the lenses of my Ki ET LA glasses?

Once the new lenses are installed, a few good habits will help them last longer.

Clean the lenses regularly

To clean your glasses, preferably use a soft cloth suitable for spectacle lenses. Our microfiber pouch, sold with our glasses, is ideal!

Avoid rubbing the lenses with clothing, a towel or any fabric that could be abrasive.

Store the glasses when not in use

When your child takes off their glasses, remember to store them in a suitable case.

At the beach, in the car or in a bag, glasses can easily be crushed or scratched. Proper storage helps to better protect the frame and lenses between uses. We recommend our microfiber case or our fanny pack with its microfiber pocket at the front.

This helps limit the risk of scratches.

Lens kit or new pair: which one to choose?

If only the lenses of your glasses are affected and the frame is still in good condition, the lens kit can be an attractive solution.

However, if the frame is broken, heavily deformed, too small, or if the model is not compatible with a replacement kit, you will have to consider a new pair.

Before any order, check the following:

  1. The condition and size of your frame. Is it still in good condition and usable?
  2. The model of your glasses. Does the proposed lens kit match your pair?
  3. The condition of the lenses. Are they just scratched or do they have another problem?

In case of doubt, our team remains available to support you.
