Notre savoir-faire

Our Expertise

Since 2010, Ki ET LA has been imagining, designing, manufacturing, and distributing sunglasses for children aged 0 to 12. This expertise has been built over the years thanks to the determination of 3 founders who wanted to revolutionize the baby sunglasses market. The brand has come a long way since then! A range of UNBREAKABLE glasses up to age 4, then an EXTRA FLEX SUN range for 4-16 year olds, and a range of colorful anti-UV hats and clothing! Over these years, Ki ET LA has become the expert in sun protection for children.

Collection design in Nantes

Between 2010 and 2024, all collections were imagined and designed by creative director Anne Charlotte Le Grand, co-founder and product development director. Since the end of 2024, our collections have been imagined by our product designer and artistic director Juliette ROUSSET, a graduate of the Nantes School of Design.

Passionate about the world of eyewear and children, she has a thousand ideas a minute and pushes Ki ET LA to innovate and reinvent itself every day.

Imbued with a pop and vibrant style, the collections always showcase clever design, aesthetics, practicality, and comfort. Ki ET LA thinks of the children first, but also of the parents!

Creativity, design, and innovation are at the heart of creation at Ki ET LA.

Creators of sunglasses for active children!

Since 2010, Ki ET LA has been designing collections EXCLUSIVELY for children. Following the brand's success with the Diabola model—2-sizes-in-1 sunglasses for babies—Ki ET LA continued its momentum with a range of UNBREAKABLE sunglasses for up to age 4, then ULTRA FLEX sunglasses for up to age 16.

Ki ET LA continues to dream up ever more fun and comfortable models for children.

The design team draws daily inspiration from iconic adult models and then remodels them for children. Ki ET LA works on this unique expertise with perseverance, dynamism, and attention to detail. It's a true passion!

But what does that mean? Over here we'll explain it to you!

Demanding manufacturing

Getting a child to wear sunglasses is a challenge, which is why Ki ET LA designs ultra-lightweight sunglasses that guarantee the best anti-UV protection while also being ultra-fashionable, to make children want to wear them!

To ensure an unbeatable price-quality ratio, product development is carried out according to precise and very demanding specifications, allowing Ki ET LA to benefit from the very latest technologies in terms of injection as well as product compliance.

The choice of materials and finishes is also essential in the development of the collections. The glasses for 0 to 4-year-olds are made of an ultra-flexible material (TPEE), which makes them UNBREAKABLE frames. The models for ages 4 and up are designed in PC, offering ultra-light, flexible, and resistant frames. Their EXTRA FLEX hinges allow children complete freedom of movement.

From sketching and modeling to manufacturing, everything is thought out, verified, and controlled.

Design & Innovation at the heart of our strategy

Ki ET LA places design and innovation at the heart of its strategy. This effort has been rewarded with several labels and awards:

  • Already awarded the Janus de la Mode for the Kapel hat, Ki ET LA received the 2018 Janus de la Santé from the French Design Institute for its CraZyg-Zag 6-12 year old sunglasses collection.
  • The Diabola models received the Strategic Design Trophy from the Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantiques for the design of these evolving, unbreakable baby glasses.
  • Three Top Labels have been awarded by parent testers on the online review site ConsoBaby. The Diabola sunglasses, the Kapel hat, and the Pop anti-UV t-shirt all obtained the best ratings from parents in the "Baby Sunglasses" and "Anti-UV Protection" categories respectively.
  • The Made in France Ourson glasses were nominated for a 2019 Silmo d'Or in the "Child" category.

A first step towards "Made in France"

For a few years now, Ki ET LA has been dreaming of relocating part of its production to France.

It took a meeting in 2018 for the founders to have the breakthrough they needed. It was in the Oyonnax valley, the cradle of French eyewear, that Ki ET LA finally found a reliable partner. In addition to "Made in France" innovation, which is a big step for Ki ET LA, they also designed an innovation in design and technique: an animal-shaped (bear and lion) unbreakable pair of glasses injected in a single piece. Unheard of until then for the small Breton company!

This is therefore a first step towards "Made in France" that marks the beginning of a long series.
